We do not get to focus on each other. We often have assumptions about others, assumptions that are not true at all, but that is all because others’ lives are not expressed.

With the podcast, we get to experience new stories almost every week, about someone’s life or experiences that we may not have ever known. In saying that, in my experience being a part of The Share Chair Podcast, I have learned many things, but most of all, is that we learn best from others and their experiences. In hearing others’ stories, we can connect our lives to others, bringing us closer together as a community. A sense of awareness and acceptance is also gained from this.

We, of course, do not have full awareness of what is going on in our peers’ or students’ lives, so listening to these episodes is a way that others choose to open up about their lives. I am genuinely happy I have been a part of this podcast for two years now, and I cannot wait to see where it leads to in the future.
